Supervision

Clinical supervision is a formal process of professional support and learning that addresses practitioners’ developmental needs in a non-judgemental way. The role of the supervision is to help the individual to reflect and develop in their role.

The amount of supervision required depends on a number of things including the supervisee’s perceived needs, prior experience, funding, and other practicalities.

Following an initial session a supervision contract would be drawn up and agreed upon together regarding the practical details and internal working of the session i.e. the format of each meeting.

Supervision can be provided in the Rugby or Leamington Spa sites. Other venues are possible through agreement and provision of travel expenses. In addition it can be appropriate to do supervision over the phone or via Skype following an initial meeting.

Consultation

Avon Psychology Service can offer consultation on an occasional or regular basis, to a range of professionals. The focus of consultation is generally to increase your understanding of the family and what to do to support change happening. Where appropriate, and dependent on training, support can be given in implementing specific therapeutic approaches. In this consultation model clinical responsibility remains with the professional in this context.
